A lot has gone on since I last updated... as usual.
I graduated, got married, went on a honeymoon....
I should write about all of that.... but something pretty big happened yesterday...

I don't feel like writing out all of the details... so since Ken already did.... here is the story from Ken:

Wow, I became an uncle yesterday!!! Cass & I are Aunt Cassidy and Uncle Ken to Rob and Michelle’s beautiful little baby, Jesse Allen. Little Jesse was born Feb. 1, 2008 at 1:27am, and at 9lbs 7oz and 21” long, he resembled his Dad remarkably! Rob was 21.5” long and 9lbs 11oz when he was born! So you may be wondering, wait a sec, Michelle was pregnant? Well, this cute little bundle was more of a surprise then most babies usually are. Here’s the story...

Cass and I had Jessica come over to hang out. We wanted to show her the pictures of our honeymoon and the gifts that we got from the wedding and to share stories. Well, around 3:40pm I get a phone call from Michelle’s cell phone and it’s Rob calling to see if we wanted to hang out tonight. I informed him that unfortunately we already had plans with Jess and suggested we hang out tomorrow. Rob was quite persistent about us coming out tonight and I asked him if there’s a reason for the urgency. Rob explained, “Well, we want you to come out because we want you to meet your new nephew.” ...............Silence.......”Wait, what do you mean?” I replied. Cass and I never knew Michelle was pregnant, so naturally we were quite shocked. Here’s the crazy part...Jesse was an even bigger surprise to Rob and Michelle! Michelle never knew she was pregnant!

Thursday, Jan. 31st at like 5am, Michelle woke up feeling kind of sick and by 10am she decided she needed to go to the doctor. So since she trusted U of M Hospital she went there, after being there most of the morning and into the afternoon/early evening they realized what was going on. She was having contractions and the baby was ready! This was news to Michelle, she never even suspected she was pregnant. Her body had barely changed in 9 months, she only gained a few pounds and a couple inches around the waste. So, Rob gets a call from Michelle at around 7pm revealing her day and that he’s going to be a father TONIGHT! Rob of course rushed to the hospital and called his plowing boss to say he wouldn’t be in tonight. (It snowed pretty good that night too) after only about 2 hours of labor, little Jesse Allen was born at 1:27am. He’s healthy, and boy is he ever cute!

When Cass and I got the call, Jessica had the presence of mind to ask how big the baby was and we darted out of the apartment to go visit. First, we made a run to Toys R’ Us to get some gifts for the baby. God’s timing was amazing. Just that day, about 2 hours before I got Rob’s phone call, Cass and I got a $100 Visa card from Rent.com for referring to them as where we found our apartment. So we basically gave that to Jesse, especially since Michelle didn’t get to have a baby shower. So we took Jessica with us and got her discount at TRU and bought everything we could think of that Rob and Michelle would need for Jesse except for a car seat. God blessed Cass and I to be a blessing for them! With little things like that that happen, how could anyone not believe that God exists!

Unfortunately, Cass and I accidentally did something yesterday that we NEVER do when big things like this happen...we forgot our camera! I couldn’t believe we never even thought of grabbing it! So I took that picture of Jesse and a few others with my phone. Thank goodness for camera phones right?

Funny how I wrote last month on the first that I was sick... and I am just getting over a sickness this month on the first.

School, life, everything has been crazy.  But each day, each week that goes by brings me closer to graduation!  :)  In a little over 2 weeks, I will be DONE with most of my major projects for this semester. (Unless one of my professors throws something crazy)  So I am looking forward to that.

Since my last post, I have had my first bridal shower.  That was lots of fun.  Got some fun presents!  Jess is throwing me another shower in a week and  a few days.

I need to get back into the wedding planning mode... just don't know where to start.  I have appointments to schedule... just don't know when the best time to make them is.

Wedding invites need to get out soon.  Yeah, I need to get on that.

This, as usual, has been a completely random post.

so... I am going into week 2 of this cold.  I can finally breath... last week.. that was an issue.  I only cough occasionally... so I can deal with that.  However, I have NO energy.  I do one little task, and I feel like I need to lay down for an hour.  Any suggestions???  I can't be in school full time, work, and do anything else on NO energy.

Besides the cold, life has been good since my last update.  My 6 classes aren't killing me. (yet) Wedding planning has kinda stopped... but all of the major stuff was dealt with over the summer.  Bridal Shower is coming up... Oct 20.  Kinda excited about that! :)

Random Facts:  Ken and I will have been dating a year on the 9th.  On the 10th, we only have 100 days left until our wedding!  Kinda crazy!   (We have been reading the book of Psalms backwards to keep track of how many days left.)

This has been a pointless entry.   And now I am tried.  Going to go lay down before I have to get up to cook dinner.  I just want to be better again!!!!

Ken and I signed the lease to our apartment today!!!  Ken gets to move in over the next few days... I will be moving my stuff in towards the end of December... and I will move in on the night of January 19!!

We have a red wall!!!  The apartment complex that we moved into offers to paint an accent wall.  Makes the beige apartment much more exciting!!!  We made a few trips and got most of the big stuff outta Ken's dorm.

But of course, as with all life changing events, something must go wrong.
Everything was going great this morning. We got a lot of stuff into my car and decided to just take that for now since we had to be at the leasing office at 10.  It was 9:30... and since it doesn't take 30min to get to the apartment we were planning on taking the long way... (michigan ave instead of 94)  Well, apparently, Ypsilanti was having its heritage festival today.  So Michigan Ave... closed.  We thought... lets take Huron River over to Cross... both closed.  So we go the LONG way around and get to michigan ave where it is open.  We thought we  could take rawsonville road up.. but no.. it dead ends.  Eventually... 45 min later.. we arrive at the leasing office.  Good thing we left early.  We were beginning to wonder if we would ever get out of Ypsi.

But, all is good.  I will post some pics of the place once we have some more furniture in place.

So... my bike got stolen.  Not too upset about it because it was almost 11 years old and kinda falling apart.  A little upset because now I can't ride my bike to work... so that means I must leave a lot earlier to walk there.  And I can't ride bikes with Jess and Ken anymore.  (Jess just got a brand new bike... she keeps it in her room though cause her last bike was stolen as well)

My question is... why would anyone steal what looks like a 12 year old girl's bike?   Obviously a 12 year old girl isn't walking around at night with the  kind of tool it would take to break my lock off.  (or... maybe I am wrong on this and there was a 12 year old involved in stealing my bike)

I guess this saves me the trouble of tossing it in the trash in a few months anyways.  Jokes prolly on them when they see that it was kinda falling apart.
